Which straps work
You need a chest strap that sends true beat-to-beat intervals. The Polar H10 is the reference the measurement was built on; the Movesense HR+, the Movesense Medical and the CooSpo H808S are evidence-supported too. Other chest straps, the Polar H9 among them, can pair and show as Unverified. Watches and optical armbands cannot feed the measurement. Which straps work, and why →
Getting a good read
Wet the electrodes and wear the strap snug. It only wakes on skin contact, and a dry or loose strap can miss beats.
If it will not pair, close the strap's own app. Most straps allow only a limited number of connections at once.
Measure first thing after waking, before coffee, food and training, at the same point each morning.
Stay still and follow the app. It tells you when to lie down and when to stand, and paces your breathing in the second half. Keep still through the standing phases.
Let it run the full twelve minutes. If the connection drops, the recording gets shorter, and a recording that is cut short is refused.
What NO READ means
We couldn't get a clean enough read to give you a decision today — and we won't guess.
NO READ is a refusal, not a bad result. The recording was not clean enough to score: too few usable beats, a session cut short, timing that no heartbeat produces, too much noise, or a paced phase without the breathing rhythm it should contain. When the app can tell what went wrong, it says so on the result.
What to do: wet the electrodes, snug the strap and measure again. If it keeps happening with the same strap, write to us and say which strap it is.
Deleting a measurement
On Today, tap the calendar at the top left to open History. Swipe left on the measurement and tap Delete.
It will be removed permanently — including its influence on how future measurements are judged. This can't be undone.
Deleting your account and all your data
In Profile, tap Delete account & data, confirm, and confirm again with Apple. Your account and every measurement — on the server and waiting on your phone — are deleted permanently. This can't be undone.
It also signs you out and removes Today's Load from the apps that use Sign in with Apple on your Apple ID.
If you said yes to Help improve the method, the copies you contributed stay, with nothing that connects them to you. To have them deleted as well, turn that switch off in Profile before you delete your account.
Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account or your measurements. Delete the account in the app first.
Privacy questions
What is collected, where it is stored, who can see it and how to delete it is set out in the privacy policy. For anything it does not answer, write to support@todaysload.com.
A training tool, not a medical device
Today's Load reads your autonomic regulation to support one training decision each morning. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent anything, it says nothing about illness, blood pressure or heart rhythm disorders, and it is not a reason to delay talking to a doctor.
